Ffair Nadolig/Christmas Fayre
School Enterprise Competition
We decided to make homemade fudge and truffles to sell on our Christmas stall this year. We also sold hot chocolate with extra toppings on the night.
As part of the planning process, we did the following:
- Decided on flavours for each product.
- Came up with names for the stall which we then voted on our favourite.
- Held a 'design a logo for our business' competition.
- Looked at the cost of the ingredients and worked out how much money we could make.
- Used the terms 'cost' and 'profit'.
- Made the product.
- Tasted the product.
- Packaged and priced the product.
All this planning meant we had a successful stall.
'The Snuffling Pig' was born, named after the fact that pigs can sniff out truffles (the fungi kind). We made Salted caramel, Vanilla, Chocolate Orange and Mint Chocolate flavoured Fudge. We made Cookies and Cream, Raspberry Cheesecake and Gingerbread flavoured truffles. We completely sold out!
We made a total of £289.10 on the night of the fair. The ingredients cost a total of £48.04.
Giving us a profit of £241.06!
The fudge went down so well, that we are now taking orders for Christmas. We are really excited to make them during the last week of school before the Christmas holidays.

Anti-bullying Week/Wythnos gwrth-fwlio - As part of this week we looked at; what bullying is, what we can do about it as a victim/bystander/bully, compare conflict with bullying and we had great discussions about respect. We also celebrated our differences by listening to 'This is me' from the Greatest Showman in order to create this display in class. Gwnaethom ddysgu am beth yw bwlian a beth y gallwn gwneud amdano. Hefyd, gwnaethom ni wrando ar gerddoriaeth er mwyn dathlu bod yn wahanol.
